Erfan Nikoo is an artist and filmmaker born and raised in Tehran, Iran. In his twenties, he moved to Ukraine to study film directing. After completing his studies, he worked as an artist in Ukraine and Poland, developing a practice shaped by movement, observation, and lived experience.

In 2022, following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, he relocated to the Netherlands. He is currently based in Amsterdam, where he lives in a hotel room that functions as both living space and studio. From this temporary environment, he continues to create work that reflects on place, time, and the condition of being in transit.​​​​​
